Officials lifted the Hurricane Rita evacuation order for Cameron Parish in January 2006. Hurricane Rita and its storm surge destroyed Louisiana's largest parish on Sept. 24, 2005. After loosing everything, residents have met resistance to rebuild from the government and insurance companies.
